WB + UPN = CW
Yesterday it was announced that two television stations – Warner Brothers (WB) and UPN will be uniting into one channel called CW.
WB is Channel 2 (KWGN) and UPN is Channel 20 (KTVD) in Denver.
Considering i’ve never watched either channel, I really have no opinion on the impending unison.
Broncos Update
The Denver Broncos lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers 34-17. In other news, the Nuggets beat the Spurs on the same day. So all was not lost.

Broncos in the Superbowl
I’m the furthest thing from a Denver Bronco fan. In fact I despise the Broncos. However, I will have to say that they took me by surprise this year with their steady play. I really thought that Jake Plummer would implode once again in the playoffs. Last weekend they faced the New England Patriots and beat them quite easily. The next opponent, Pittsburgh, is almost identical to the Broncos – they have a strong blitzing defense, two running backs that carry the load, one steady wide receiver, and a quarterback who minimizes mistakes.
My prediction Steelers 12 – Broncos 10. It’s going to be a dogfight with Jake falling down in the endzone for an errant safety.

Behind the Mortgage
Behind the Mortgage is a a well written mortgage blog that focuses soley on mortgages and Minnesota real estate. The writer, Alex Stenback, has been given the opportunity to speak about mortgages on a syndicated radio show in Minneapolis.
In comparison, my blog covers mortgages, personal finance, real estate, experiences, sports, humor, daily occurences, opinions, and just about anything my free thinking brain comes us with.
My brain needs to focus.
2006, New Year, same old Jets
I haven’t posted in a while mainly because I’ve been mourning the NY Jets season. Being a Jets fan is hard work especially when you live in Denver, Colorado. I find solace being around another Jet fan, Adventure Guy, from Mile High Sports Magazine fame.
After a disastrous 4-12 season, the Jets made even more headlines. After the season they “negotiated” a stellar 4th round draft pick from the KC Chiefs in exchange for their coach, Herm Edwards. I was a Herm Edwards fan because in his five year tenure he was the only coach to lead the Jets to the playoffs three times. That’s a pretty lofty accomplishment especially when you’re the HC of the NYJETS. However, it was apparent he wanted out of NY despite having two years left on his contract.
The Jets are now in rebuilding mode and will start the new year with an extensive head coaching search. If you’re even slightly interested in the Jets, you should check out Gary Sparago’s dissertation called The Case Against Herm Edwards and Terry Bradway which was posted on the Jets Blog.
Mortgage Refinance
A mortgage refinance is done by applying and qualifying for a new mortgage loan and then using the proceeds from the new home loan to pay off the old home mortgage loan. You can refinance for many reasons: to take cash out of the equity in your home, to lower your interest rate, to lower your mortgage payment, to simply switch mortgage companies because you are not pleased with your current mortgage company, to consolidate debt, to pay off high rate credit cards, to lower the term of your mortgage, to increase the term of your mortgage, to combine a first and a second mortgage, to switch from a fixed rate to an adjustable rate, or to switch from an adjustable rate to a fixed rate, and for many, many other reasons
When refinancing in order to payoff credit card debt, keep in mind that credit cards are unsecured debts. When you refinance, you are transferring unsecured debt into debt secured by your home. Make sure you are financially savvy enough not to continue the patterns that resulted in the credit card debt or your could be putting your home at risk.
One of the most popular reasons for doing a mortgage refinance would be to obtain funds for improvements on the home. Since the money spend on such improvements often directly increases the value of the home, it is a very sensible way to obtain such funds. Some of the most popular improvements include new kitchens and bathrooms, new windows, landscaping and swimming pools.
