21 acres and a school

When my blog was in it’s infancy I wrote a post called Buying Where The Students Live. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to realize that the area surrounding Regis University is untapped terrain:
Denver developers Susan Powers and Chuck Perry are teaming up for the first time, with plans to turn 21 acres near Regis University into a project featuring factory-built townhomes.

Buying where the students live

School is around the corner and in a few days summer will officially be over. Colleges and universities around the country will be inundated with students. Some of them will live in dorms but the vast majority will live in off campus housing. The Bean Counter Blog offers up some interesting commentary on buying student housing as investment property.
It’s well known that the real estate around Denver University (DU) and University of Colorado (CU) is sizzling. DU is located on Evans and University in Denver and houses that go up for sale typically don’t last long. CU is located in Boulder on Folsom St and housing is at a premium as well.
Is Regis next? Regis University, located in North West Denver of I-70 and Lowell, is in a moderately priced area where rents can easily cover your mortgage.
