Top Five Fridays – Denver Pizza

This week I’m going to give props to my favorite pizza joints in Denver:

  1. Original NY Pizzeria – althought they’re in Broomfield, CO which is about 20 minutes from Denver, they the best and most authentic NY style pizza. After all, the owner is from Brooklyn, NY.
  2. Two Fisted Marios – 16th and Market, don’t be fooled by their looks, the staff is the best!
  3. Anthony’s – Various locations throughout Denver but I like the one by Kennedy Golf Course on Dartmouth and Hampden. Two slices and a cold Coors won’t set you back much.
  4. Pantaleones – tucked in a small shopping center by Evans and Holly, these Jersey guys have the best crust.
  5. NY Pizzeria – somewhere on Leetsdale, the place is always packed at lunch.

Top Five Fridays – Pizza toppings

I try to read the business sections in the Rocky Mountain News and Denver Post on a regular basis. Lately, the articles are so down on the Denver real estate market that i’ve just glanced at the articles. So for top five fridays I’m steering clear of real estate.

Pizza is my favorite food, I even blogged about the best pizza in Denver. Here are my top five pizza toppings:

    1. Pepperoni
    2. Sausage
    3. Green Peppers
    4. Onions
    5. Meatball

If a pizza has pineapples is it really a pizza?

Top Five Fridays – NY Jets QBs

As we finally hit summer, i’m aching to see football seasoon start and despite living in Denver, I’m a huge NY Jets fan. I’ll watch the Broncos but they’re not the team I rooted for since childhood. I firmly believe you’re born a Jets fan cause there’s no way you actually become one. The Jets haven’t really had a decent quarterback since Broadway Joe. Here are my top five NY Jets QBs:

      1. Vinny Testaverde: #16 is my all time favorite athlete, he’s just a class act.
      2. Boomer Esiason: #7 played for the Jets for a handful of seasons but played with passion.
      3. Ken O’Brien: #7, part of the famed class of 83. Always played great against the Dolphins.
      4. Pat Ryan: #10, backup that always played with a glove
      5. Chad Pennington: #10, led the Jets to 2 playoff wins.

Top Five Fridays – Mexican Beer

Mexican beers are the best served during the summer time. After visiting Mexico numerous times, I noticed that they never served their beer with limes. Here are my top five:

      1. Negro Modelo – I’m partial to dark beers
      2. Bohemia – I recently tried it and was really impressed
      3. Corona – If you’re gonna drink Corona, you better have limes.
      4. Dos Equis – At one point Dos Equis Amber was my favorite.
      5. Modelo Especial – It was a toss up between Pacifico and Modelo Especial.

Top Five Fridays – Rap Groups

I’m instaling TOP FIVE FRIDAYS where I list my top five of just about anything. On the docket for this is week is my top five RAP groups. When I was a kid, rap was just starting out. It’s evolved since then but I still dig old school beats.

      1. Beastie Boys – “Licensed to Ill” and “Paul’s Boutique” are their finest albums.
      2. A Tribe Called Quest – If you don’t have their “Anthology” album, get it!
      3. Public Enemy – “Believe the Hype!”
      4. Boogie Down Productions – KRS-ONE is a self described lyrical assassin.
      5. Outkast – They get more acclaim for their latest stuff but their early stuff is awesome.

      Nigerian Email Conference

According to most surveys, mortgage spam is considered the worst. The spam that cracks me up the most are the ones where an African prince or chieftain needs my bank account info so that he can deposit $1,000,000 in African funds.

My friend Darrin came across this site on the web. It’s satire on a fictional Nigerian Email Conference that shows email spammers how to earn more money. It’s hysterical! Just look at what the conference serves for breakfast:

      Breakfast Kickoff Session:
Your choice: A hard boiled egg, or two slices of white bread and a cricket.
